We had a great first night, last night, in the club, with lots of the “Friday Night” crowd in. It was great to catch up with many of you and we are all looking forward to another great night tonight with our live Band, Bingo, Raffle and of course Ian on the Mike!

Bar Pricing
With support from our main brewery, we will be holding our 2019 Pricing for a while. As highlighted in our posts and email in April there have effectively been three pricing increases by breweries since our current members pricing was set. The good news for a short while, we will maintain 2019 pricing, we hope you enjoy it while it lasts. Prices are substantially lower than our local venues. The pricing will be revised, our aim, as ever, is to continue to negotiate the best possible deal for our Club with Breweries and ensure our members pricing, where possible, is the lowest in the area, whilst building back our “War Chest” for the future of The Club.
Our Two Biggest Selling Products and price comparison are as follows;
Coors Carling

Stanley Ward Conservative Phased Re-Opening Summer 2021
“Phased Re-Opening & Conditional Government Dates”
Unlike many venues and public houses in our area, the Club is famous for its “Live Music” and our indoor sport, including snooker and darts. As well as our Games and Bingo! Unfortunately opening with reduced capacity during the summer 2020, heavily impacted the club financially. Busy Saturday band nights are our main income and limited numbers in the club had a large impact on the Club’s takings. Other pressure from two sets of brewery increases in the last 12 months, also needs to be considered.
The Government Announcements on fully lifting the restrictions, is planned with a Conditional date of 21st June 2021. The Club is pleased therefore to announce that the Club intends to commence a phased re-opening ten days before this date. Provisionally this will be Friday, 11th June 2021, or 10 days before the Government Conditional date to remove all restrictions, currently 21st June 2021.
As during summer 2020, during this phased re-opening and prior to the Government Conditional date of 21st June 2021, the Club will operate in accordance with Government Guidelines. This will include the Covid Safe Operating Procedures which will be enforced to keep you and our Club staff safe.
In brief, Ten Days Prior to the removal of Government Restrictions the following will still apply when visiting The Club.
-
The club will operate reduced opening days and hours, to fully paid 2020 Club Members only.
-
You must produce your 2020 Membership Card (with picture) and all members must swipe on entry at every visit. (You may also be asked for your contact details / Membership Card, at the bar in line with Government Guidance relating to track and trace, if it is found you have not swiped in)
-
During these initial re-opening days, Members’ Guests will not be permitted. (The exception to this will be accompanied children over 14 years from the same household, as the member).
-
Children under 14 years will be not permitted inside or outside of the premises for the present time.
-
The Club will have reduced numbers permitted in all rooms, *until the removal of all restrictions.
-
A One-way walking system will operate throughout the Club, *until the removal of all restrictions.
-
Existing Government Guidance on Household Numbers and Masks, *until the full unlock date has passed.
-
Table service only, *until the removal of all restrictions.
-
Product range will be reduced & the Club’s preferred method of payment will remain debit card.
-
All measures will be reviewed on a regular basis, and it is hoped that all restrictions will be removed in line with the Government’s Conditional Date of 21st June 2021
Full details of these guidelines will be published to members before the club opens and displayed in the club together with signage and Government social distancing rules and measures.
We expect members to respect the safety and social distancing measures at all times. Failure to do so will result in members being refused any further use of the premises and they will be asked to leave The Club premises immediately.
As last summer 2020, the Club will have reduced numbers permitted in all rooms.
Proposed Club Opening Times from the 11th June 2021, and subject to the Conditional Government unlock date of 21st June.
Monday Closed
Tuesday Closed
Wednesday Closed
Thursday Closed
Friday 7:30 pm - 10pm
Saturday 6:00 pm - 10pm
Sunday 4:30 pm - 10pm
*N.B. These hours will be monitored over the first two weekends, prior to the Government’s Provisional Unlock date of 21st June 2021. Opening hours may be reduced or extended as necessary in accordance with demand and financial viability on the day. Extended opening times are expected to occur the weekend following the Government’s Conditional date of the 21st June 2021 and with the removal of all restrictions.

Dear Members,
As you know, it would normally be membership renewal time during February for the club, when most of our members call in to pay their annual membership.
As mentioned in our communications during February 2021, the committee decided that all individuals whose memberships were paid in 2020 and who received a new card with their photo on, will run over through to 2021. The subscription would have been the same as last year; Full - £12.00, Country - £6.00. The club would still be happy to receive any donations going forward.
In response to this communication many of you chose to donate this year and the response has been most welcome. The committee and officers would like to thank all members who chose to do this.
We will of course be communicating when The Club will open in the coming weeks. Once clarity of the dates is confirmed, in line with the Government’s road map, consideration of any implications in budget and the timing of the end of the industry specific furlough arrangements. It is important for The Club to get back to normal and full operation without restrictions, as soon as possible, so all members can enjoy what The Club offers safely.

Membership Update
6th February 2021
Dear Members,
It would normally be membership renewal time during February for the club, when most of our members call in to pay their annual membership. However, as we all know 2020 has been both very different and difficult for us all, and the start of 2021 has also been challenging too. We all hope that with the roll out of the vaccine, we will get to a point when we can reopen soon, but this may still be some time off yet.
With “The Club” not trading for the majority of 2020, and trading unsustainably during the summer weeks, strains have been placed on The Club’s finances. Careful management during last spring and summer has ensured that maximum benefit has been made of Government grants and furlough payments. However, this has not covered all the ongoing bills that still have to be paid. These include insurance, Staff N.I. holidays (until recently), maintenance contracts, ongoing maintenance and so on.
Having strong financial management over previous years has ensured that The Club has accrued an amount of savings. These savings along with Government Grants are now being used to keep The Club afloat, our staff paid and without the need so far to borrow. A situation we hope to hold until we can reopen and start trading, as we did prior to the pandemic.
Unfortunately, with all the uncertainty at this time these savings will not last forever.
The reason for this re-communication is to inform you, the members, of the decision made by the committee regarding 2021 yearly subscriptions.
The committee has decided that all individuals whose memberships were paid in 2020 and received a new card with your photo on, will run over through to 2021. The club needs every penny and although the subscription would have been the same as last year; Full - £12.00, Country - £6.00, we would still be happy to receive any donations.
If you feel that you are able to donate any amount, then please send your donation by bank transfer. This is the easiest, most cost effective and safest way to donate and support your club.

Did not renew your 2020 Membership in February?
As you can imagine, the club cash balances have been severely hit since the end of March. Whilst work by the Committee over recent years focusing on “Live Entertainment” and Functions has resulted in the club being in a stronger position than most members clubs, we do need to attempt to keep funds coming through.
With this in mind, we would be grateful to receive your 2020 renewal subscriptions if you could not get to renew your membership in February 2020. This will help your club at this challenging time.
You can renew by simply posting your “Existing Old Card”, a cheque for £10 to the Club.
Or if you would like to join follow the guidance on the website: http://www.stanleyconservativeclub.co.uk/Web.aspx
Upon receipt of your renewal, we will post out your new updated 2020 Membership Card.
Please allow 5-10 days for post, include your address and telephone number with your existing membership card and payment and email the club a head and shoulders picture of yourself.
(with the same details to secretary@stanleyconservativeclub.co.uk)
Many thanks to those who have renewed their membership

Unlocking Soon, but not quite yet….
Dear Member,
The start of our “Welcome back to the Stanley Conservative Club”, in our new normal.
So many things have changed since the start of lockdown due to Covid-19. For those of you who may have been directly impacted and may have lost loved ones, The Chairman, Officers and Committee send our heartfelt condolences, these are very sad times.
During the lockdown many things have been happening within the club.
A small subgroup of the Club Committee and Officers have met weekly throughout the lockdown to keep a track on spending, the security of the club and in readiness for opening the club when restrictions are lifted. The initial meetings were carried out using Zoom, which had its own challenges as the group quickly learnt how to use the technology. In the Club some redecorating has been completed, bars and areas have been deep cleaned and measures taken to mitigate the risk of transmission of Covid-19, when we do get back to slowly unlocking the Club.
When we Unlock, the Club will be implementing Government recommendations and we ask members to comply with these requirements when we reopen. We want members and staff members to feel safe when entering the club and the implemented recommendations should give you this security.
As you know, “The Club” is not like any other venue in the area and as such will be unlocked much more slowly than most and not for a few more weeks yet. This in the main has been driven by the Government restriction on Live Music, and other restrictions relating to large groups at this time. So, not quite the "Bounce Back" we had hoped for as we start to Unlock.
Staff Training has commenced, and we will be back in touch soon with our reopening plans during July.
